This happened last week.
My boy pointed to a Chinese sentence in his book and asked me, "Mama, what is this?"
"火车在铁路上行驶。means 'The train travels on rail tracks'."
"No!!! 火 is FIRE, 车 is CAR; it's FIRE CAR!!! NOT train!"
"..."
我，哭笑不得。Don't know should cry or laugh...
