Juicy Lamb Shank at Solid Rock

I'm going to recommed this cafe to you, as the delicious lamb shank they serve is by far the most resonably priced in Penang Island. The portion is huge too! Look at the picture! It is served with pan fried spaghetti noodles, covered with lots of flavourful sauce. The meat is absolutely tender and juicy. This main course is called Osco Busco in their menu, though I'm not sure what it means. You should really give it a try!

I'm not paid to promote this place okay! Just wanna share where you can get reasonably priced but good food here on the island. ;)

Another special on that day was Beff Wellington, which is not on the menu. It's actually sirloin steak with chicken liver pate wrapped in puff pastry pie served with mushroom sauce. Very filling aitelyu! Also very good!
The place is called Solid Rock Cafe; the menu offers mainly western cuisines. The shop lot they are occupying now was formerly a restaurant called Fusion (which was closed down some time last year I think). Now this place also offers wireless broadband connectivity. On some days' evening, there's live performance.

Address: 11-A, Lintang Burma, Pulau Tikus.
Tel: 04-2277298
Closed on Mondays.

Heritage cities in Britain
My hubs studied in UK for his tertiary education. So he is quite familiar with the country since his sister use to work there too. A lot of times he will talk about his experiences or life being a student back in UK, and off the places he went to. So naturally, after hearing all the stories about the places in UK, I would love to go there one day.

When I do a search on the places to visit in UK (I like to plan the itinery ahead :P), I find this site
http://heritagecities.com provides a lot of information about the attractions of different cities in Britain. Particularly on heritage sites, arts and cultural attractions. I love to look at those majestic old castles and mansions, and imagine the grandeur during its heydays. There is always an old charm about these castles and mansions (I must have watched too much movies :P).

Other than the above,
http://heritagecites.com also lists the top 10 places to visit, eating places, tours and even information on how to get there. It’s very easy to navigate in http://heritagecites.com. All the breathtaking pictures really make me wanna book a flight straight away and fly there.

On second thought, I think I’ll wait until AA starts flying to London at RM99.99. That, I can save a lot of money for eating, sightseeing and lodging heheh!

About Buying Insurance
Since the day I started working, I had already made up my mind about buying insurance. I guess I just want to have peace of mind that in case anything bad happen (touch wood!), the insurance is there to pay up whatever is needed. Of course that is up to the amount insured.

Some of my colleagues didn’t buy their own medical insurance because they think that the company has already bought insurance for them, so there’s no need to buy extra. But what they fail to realize is that, the amount insured by the company is very small only. Furthermore, the insurance cease once one resigns from the company. Even if one works until retirement, there is still the question, what about after retirement? The savings won’t be enough, what with the rising inflation every year!

However I dislike the hassle of seeing different insurance agents just to find out about the insurance package and premiums for survey purpose. Not to mention sometimes the agents are kind of pushy and pesky. It’d be a good idea if we have something like
insuranceportalonline here so we can do the survey with on our own. It will make the whole process so much more pleasant because we can then select the packages on insuranceportalonline that we can afford and then make arrangement to see the agent(s).

I think another feature which is useful for web services such as insuranceportalonline
is to include brief description of what the insurance cover. This will make the comparison more comprehensive and easier for the user to identify the right insurance package to go for. Now how I wish there’s such services in this country…

The Z-list : Do it and pass on!
I read this from Shoppingmum's site and really couldn't resist doing it. There's really nothing to lose. Plus, no brain cells are killed in the process of writing this post. :P

**Instructions**
The premise is simple: Write a post, and copy and paste my list from below into it. Make sure the links are active and correct. If your blog is on that list, remove it because your post isn’t about self-promotion. Don’t worry, because if your name is on mine, it’s on others and will spread. Add your favourite deserving blogs to the top of the list (not compulsory). Publish the post. People will notice the incoming links, and hopefully write their own z-list posts. The result will be that we all get more links pointing to our blogs, and more readers - got to be good!

Key Points
1) Create a new post on your blog.
2) Copy and Paste the entire list of blog links below
3) Add any blogs that you want to include near the top of the list. (Optional)
4) Include the blog where you first got the list from, on the list in your post.
5) Do not include your own blog links on the list in your post.
6) Make sure that all links are copied intact.
7) Publish the Post.

Can't get enough of Apple!
My man is an absolute Apple fan. The apple I’m referring to is not the apple fruit mind you. It’s the Mac Apple; you know, the Mac computer and all the Apple merchandises. Would you believe if I tell you we have 3 Apples at home? No kidding! 2 iMacs and 1 MacBook. He also has an iPod. Apple should really reward us for being so loyal to its brand.

Even though we have Apples in the house for many years, I’m still rather unfamiliar with the short cut keys and especially the single-button mouse. That’s mainly because in my work I use Windows based PC and when I’m back home I seldom log on. Anyway the man hogs the computer all most of the time. There’s not much opportunity for me to use and learn. But I have to admit that Apple's design is very unique and trendy. Got style!

Lately the man is thinking of getting the iPod shuffle, so that he can use it when he goes for his jogs. The retail price here at the store is very expensive, compared the US. Then I came across this Apple store online which offers 1% cash back AND free shipping some more! Ain’t that a good deal? Hmm… I better go tell him quickly about this offer!

Wanna go Amsterdam?
*Sponsored Post*

A few years ago I was fortunate to have gone on business trips to Europe, not only once, but twice. In those trips I didn’t have the chance to a lot of cities in Europe because of the tight schedule. One of the cities I’d like to visit would be Amsterdam.

However Hubs was fortunate enough to have had the chance to visit there when he went on an almost round the world business trip in which Amsterdam was one of the stop. That time we were not married yet. I don’t remember which hotel he’d stayed in, but this
Victoria Hotel Amsterdam looks very nice, modern and classy. If I ever go to Amsterdam for vacation, I’d choose to stay in Victoria Hotel Amsterdam because most of the attractions in the cities is within 1 km distance from the hotel location.

You know what is famous in Amsterdam or not? The Red light district!!! It is just 0.21km from the
Victoria Hotel Amsterdam. Since Hubs was in Amsterdam, of course he toured the famous attraction with his colleagues. He told me that girls there hoh… they posed in display window panels in front of the b.r.o.t.h.e.l.s lor! Of course with clothes on, but how skimpy I don’t know. Like mannequins in display windows here, except that they are real human. I asked why he didn’t take pictures, he said it is not allowed wor! Chey… looks like I’d have to go there to find out.

Find out ways to increase link popularity
A while ago a lot of sites started stating their Google PR number on their sites to indicate how popular the site is. There were also site which painstakingly explain what one can to in order to push up the page rank or what it is. For the average person like me, I still couldn’t get the real algorithm no matter how many times I read it. Perhaps it’s too techie for me.

I do know however, the higher one’s page rank, the more popular the site. I remembered sometime last year I did a check and found that I have very low PR. Well, that is sort of expected it since my site wasn’t updated regularly and not many traffic either. Then just a few days ago I check again to find that my PR has moved up to 4. I have no idea why it suddenly went up as I didn’t do anything different on this site. But never mind, higher is better.

Now, with the intention to monetize my blog, I have to think of ways to increase the popularity of my blog so that this site will be accepted to write for certain advertisers or even for advertisers to hand-pick my site to review its product or services. To understand how I can increase my blog’s popularity, I find
Link Popularity very useful. If you want to find out more, do hop over to that site for more information.

My latest bling bling
When I was young I only know diamond as jewellery, an expensive one an all there is to it. I wasn't aware that there's so much Cs to it until hubs (then boyfriend) introduced me to it. And the first place I learnt the Cs' from was Tiffany's website.

The first diamond with birth cert (LOL!) I owned is of course the engagement ring. It's not a big stone mind you (we couldn't afford big ones), but was one of the smallest that came with IGI certificate. At F color and IF clarity, we were very satisfied. At that time, I didn't quite fancy big stones on my hand as I had thought it looked too auntie. Of course now I'd changed my mind LOL!

However, I couldn't bring myself to spend a few thousand(s) on just a pair of diamond stud earrings. Actually, what I could afford is too small for my liking, what I like is way way beyond my budget. So the next best thing I got for myself were this (pic left). Fakes ahaks!

It is not those high quality cubic zirconias or moissanite; just a cheap pair of studs I found in one of the accessories shop in Island Plaza.

By far my most satisfied purchase of fakes... hahaha!

Papa's Cat
This cat has been coming to our home (Papa's) everyday since the day Papa spoke (in meow language) to it on his way to the market. Every evening when Pa is watering in the garden this cat would come over to manja with him i.e. snug its body up to Pa's foot. Girl likes to go up close to the cat and touch it. She's not afraid of it and even wants to step on its tail. *roll eyes*
